TeachMeFinance.com - explain Event tree Event tree The term 'Event tree' as it applies to the area of nuclear science can be defined as ' An event tree graphically represents the various accident scenarios that can occur as a result of an initiating event (i.e., a challenge to plant operation). Toward that end, an event tree starts with an initiating event and develops scenarios, or sequences, based on whether a plant system succeeds or fails in performing its function. The event tree then considers all of the related systems that could respond to an initiating event, until the sequence ends in either a safe recovery or reactor core damage. For additional information, see Probabilistic Risk Assessment. '.
